Year 9
In Year 9 the students cover the following units:
· The Gothic Genre (including extracts from ‘Dracula’ by Bram Stoker and short stories such as ‘The Red Room’ by HG Wells)
· A Shakespeare Play (‘Romeo and Juliet’)
· Overcoming Adversity (including poetry from other cultures, media texts and extracts from a range of short stories)
· The Science Fiction genre (including ‘A Sound Of Thunder’ by Ray Bradbury and a novel such as ‘The Day Of The Triffids’ or ‘The Chrysalids’ by John Wyndham, or ‘Brother In the Land’ by Robert Swindells)
