Year 8
In Year 8 the students cover the following four units:
· The Detective Genre (including Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle)
· Journeys and Places (including poems such as ‘The Daffodils’ by William Wordsworth and ‘Kubla Khan’ by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Travelogue writing)
· Cultures In Context (including a novel such as ‘Witch Child’ by Celia Rees, ‘Billy Elliot’ by Melvyn Burgess, ‘Chinese Cindarella’ by Adeline Yen Mah or ‘Refugee Boy’ by Benjamin Zephaniah)
· A Shakespeare Play (‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’)
