Year 7
The first year (Yr 7) is to provide pupils with the skills, capability and knowledge as described in the National Framework for Teaching ICT Capability. The aim is to teach pupils: Aspects of the computer environment in school (network) and how to use it effectively Elements of graphics and their manipulation Word processing Desktop publishing Processing numerical data (Spreadsheets) Handling data (Databases) Multimedia Presentations Control Use of the internet and e-mail They cover 5 units:
1. Creating an eportfolio using Dreamweaver software.
2. Producing a multimedia presentation and a poster for a specific target audience.
3. Running a school disco using spreadsheet software.
4. Designing and creating an Access database.
5. Using Flowol Control software to design and create a Pelican crossing programme.
