Year 10 and 11 GCSE ICT
Coursework:
Mini project 1a: Key Skills, Presentation and Communication. Students are using Dreamweaver to create a website of their choice or they may use presentation software such as PowerPoint.
Mini project 1b: Data Handling
Students are given freedom to choose the subject matter of their coursework (with teacher approval).
No theory is taught in year 10 other than that which is relevant to their coursework tasks.
In year 11 students will complete the major project. Again students are given freedom to choose the subject matter of their coursework (with teacher approval), but they must use MS Access software to produce their relational database. Any theory not covered is taught towards the end of year 11.
Examination: 2 theory papers taken in June of year 11.
