                                                        Year 10 and 11 AiDA and CiDA

AiDA – Award in Digital Applications (1GCSE)

In year 10, you will enhance existing ICT skills and learn new skills during the first term. In the second term, you will begin work on the Summative Project Brief (SPB) set by the exam board (Edexcel). This SPB will be used in years 10 and 11.

Over the two years, you will:
· Produce a project plan to help you to complete the SPB.
· Collect a range of information from different sources to help you produce the required publications.
· Create a spreadsheet to analyse and collate data resulting from a survey and produce graphs to graphically illustrate the data.
· Design the structure of a database and import data, which you will use to produce queries and reports. You will also create a user interface to make data entry and interrogation easier.
· Produce a variety of publications for different target audiences:
    o Newsletter
    o Kiosk application (information point)
    o Business letters
    o Report
    o Leaflet
· Produce an eportfolio (website) to present the work you have completed.
· Evaluate the work you have done.

Assessment: 100% coursework – no written exam.

CiDA – Certificate in Digital Applications- (2GCSEs)

You will complete two Units (during years 10 and 11).
In year 10, you will enhance existing ICT skills and learn new skills during the first term. In the second term, you will begin work on the Summative Project Brief (SPB) set by the exam board (Edexcel). This SPB will be used in years 10 and 11.

Over the two years, you will:
· Complete the AiDA (see separate sheet for information) – 1 GCSE
· Produce a project plan to help you to complete the SPB.
· Collect a range of information from different sources to help you produce the required  publications.
· Produce a multimedia presentation using Macromedia Flash.
· Produce a storyboard (plan) for a short movie.
· Create a short movie in accordance with your plan.
· Create a website/e-learning/game aimed at a specified audience.
· Present evidence in your eportfolio.
· Evaluate the work you have done.

Assessment: 100% coursework – no written exam.
