Key Stage 3
Pupils follow the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum in year 7 to 9. The content of the syllabus is broadly chronological incorporating both core and optional units.
Pupils are taught about changes in the economy, society, culture and political structure of Britain from the early Middle Ages to the Twentieth Century. They are taught about aspects of European and non-European history, and to make links between historical events and changes in the different areas and periods studied. They are given opportunities to use this historical knowledge to evaluate and use source information and to construct narratives, descriptions and explanations of historical events and developments.
